Property Overview

Medhufushi Island Resort is located in Meemu Atoll, on an island surrounded by a turquoise lagoon and white-sand beaches. Coconut palms, hibiscus and other tropical vegetation cover much of the island, while the resort’s sandy pathways and traditional Maldivian design give it a relaxed, informal character.

Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, gym, dive centre, watersports centre and an overwater spa. Guests can choose between beach and overwater accommodation, with restaurants and the main bar positioned beside the pool or above the lagoon.

How far is the nearest beach?

The resort occupies its own island and its Beach Villas are positioned directly on the white sand. Guests staying elsewhere on the island can also reach the surrounding beaches and lagoon on foot.

Distance from Airport

Medhufushi Island Resort is approximately 35 minutes from Velana International Airport by seaplane. A speedboat transfer is also available and takes around two hours and 30 minutes.

Medhufushi offers several beach and overwater accommodation options:

● Beach Villas are set on the sand among tropical vegetation. They include a four-poster king-size bed or twin beds, an outdoor rain shower and a private sundeck. Semi-detached units with connecting doors are also available.

● Beach Villa Suites combine two Beach Villas through an outdoor seating area, creating two bedrooms and a shared sundeck for families or groups.

● Water Villas are built over the lagoon, with floor-to-ceiling windows, a private sundeck and steps providing direct water access.

● Lagoon Suites are freestanding overwater units reached by boat and offer the resort’s most private accommodation.

The villas follow an open Maldivian-style design, while private sundecks and traditional swing chairs feature across the accommodation range.

Food & Drink

Dining is centred around two restaurants and an overwater bar:

● Malaafaiy Restaurant is located beside the pool and serves buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners. International dishes are prepared alongside live cooking stations.

● Alfresco Restaurant occupies the resort’s pyramid-shaped overwater pavilion and offers à la carte dishes, wines and other beverages, with views across the lagoon.
