Property Overview

Canareef Resort Maldives occupies Herathera Island in Addu Atoll, the southernmost atoll of the Maldives. The long, narrow island extends for approximately 4.5 kilometres and covers 58 hectares, giving the resort a more spacious layout than many smaller Maldivian islands.

Its 271 detached beach villas are positioned along the coastline, with private access to the shore. Facilities include three outdoor pools, restaurants and bars, a dive centre, watersports, a kids’ club, a gym and a garden spa. Bicycles and internal transport help guests move around the extensive island.

How far is the nearest beach?

All villas are located along the island’s coastline and provide private access to the beach. Guests can therefore reach the sand directly from their accommodation rather than travelling to a separate beach area.

Distance from Airport

Canareef Resort Maldives is approximately 10 minutes from Gan International Airport by speedboat. Travellers arriving through Velana International Airport must first take a domestic flight to Gan, which usually takes around 70 to 95 minutes, before continuing to the resort by boat.

Rooms

The resort has 271 detached beach villas in three categories:

● Sunrise Villas face the eastern coast and measure between 76 and 97 square metres, depending on the individual unit.

● Sunset Beach Villas are positioned on the western side of the island, providing beach access and views towards the evening sun.

● Premium Beach Villas with Whirlpool include a private outdoor whirlpool and are the resort’s largest accommodation option.

Each villa has a veranda, private beach access and a detached layout. The current inventory comprises 80 Sunrise Villas, 71 Sunset Beach Villas and 120 Premium Beach Villas with Whirlpool.

Food & Drink

The resort’s dining collection currently includes two buffet restaurants and three bars:

● Kilhi Restaurant serves buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners, with international dishes and island favourites.

● Keymaa Restaurant offers Maldivian, Sri Lankan and international cuisine. Access conditions may vary according to the selected villa category and meal plan.

● Meera Bar provides à la carte dining, cocktails and wines beside the pool, with views towards the sunset.

● Dhoni Bar serves drinks and snacks and hosts scheduled entertainment including DJs, Bodu Beru performances and crab racing.

● The Beach Bar offers drinks beside the sand during the daytime.

Experiences & Activities

The resort provides access to more than 25 dive sites within Addu Atoll, including the British Loyalty shipwreck and the Bodu Hoholha underwater cave. Beginner courses are available alongside dives for more experienced guests.

Further activities include snorkelling, watersports, fishing, tennis, volleyball and cycling around the island. Children aged five to twelve can join supervised games, educational activities and beach sessions at the kids’ club. Evening entertainment may include DJs, local Bodu Beru performances and crab racing.
